About Mike Rezendes

Mike Rezendes has been a Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter with The Associated Press and the Boston Globe Spotlight Team. His recent journalism includes investigations into the cover-up of child sex abuse in the Mormon Church and the Catholic Church. Rezendes is also a television writer, a screenwriter, and a biographer. In 2022, he was a staff writer on the ABC TV drama Alaska Daily, starring Hilary Swank. Rezendes was running the marathon when the bombs exploded and worked into the night covering the tragedy. He is the coauthor of two books: Betrayal: The Crisis in the Catholic Church, and Sin Against the Innocents: Sexual Abuse by Priests and the Role of the Catholic Church.

Rezendes was played by Mark Ruffalo in the Academy Award-winning movie, "Spotlight," which won the Oscars for Best Picture and Best Screenplay in 2016, and earned Ruffalo a nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
